What about companies that claim to detect fraud through AI-based visual analysis?

Why do I need to verify more than just if a document is real or fake?

What about bank or payroll linking? Can’t that detect fraud?
In a word, no. There are several problems with bank or payroll linking. First, they rely on having applicants divulge sensitive bank or payroll login details, which studies show that over 40% of applicants simply won’t do. And you can’t require them. Worse, among the 40+% who won’t comply are all of the fraudsters, who always opt out. In short, bank and payroll linking can sometimes verify income, but it doesn’t catch or prevent fraud.
